Srinivas Singadi

30 Janeiro, 2019

My name is Srinivas K Singadi and I’m from Bangalore, India. I attended a Master of Computer Engineering, which started in October, 2015 and finished in October, 2017.

Studying at Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, specifically at ESTG, has helped me to overcome many barriers, not only in terms of knowledge, but also in the process of personal growth itself. What I find challenging is managing new opportunities and learning from the top-quality experts. I wanted to fulfil my professional knowledge and that was the main reason for choosing Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

What motivated me to apply for a Master’s at IPLeiria? After completing my Bachelor’s degree, I was searching for a good university to pursue my Master’s. I took the GRE and IELTS exams in order to get into a good university, but at same time I came to know Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

I have to tell you that I choose IPLeiria because firstly I liked the structure of course. The Master’s course is two years: the first year full of theoretical and practical assessments and, in the second year, you can choose to do an internship, a project or a dissertation, and I chose to do the internship in a reputed IT company called: “Xsealence Sea Technologies”.

After landing, the new tradition, new culture and having to learn the dominant and vigorous local language definitely made a strong and memorable impact on my life. Moving to this country was a journey into the unknown. My past experiences and accumulated skills helped me to concentrate on my new learning opportunities. Computer Engineering may simply be defined as a problem solving in the current world. IPLeiria has bought important values that I seek to follow both professionally and personally.

The School of Technology and Management is located in Leiria, which is a beautiful place with humble and ground to earth people.

Currently I am working in a reputed IT company, “Card4B.Systems S.A”, which mainly works for public transportation like bus and metro, and we are developing a software for this public transportation.

IPLeiria has a very high quality of teaching in the field of computer science with a great emphasis on the practical part – not detracting from the theory – that is extremely valuable in the labour market, as I can see now.

I hope that being part of the Alumni Network means that I will never lose the close relationship I have with the Institute and I will have the opportunity to share my experiences, as a way to return everything that was cultivated in the school, and opportunities that were given at a professional level.

Thank you Polytechnic institute of Leiria!
